Tips To Make the Best Peach and Goat Cheese Salad
- Try to handle the peaches as little as possible, especially if they are softer to begin with. The best way to slice the peaches is by cutting along the center line. There will usually be a line already formed naturally on the peach. Then, gently twist the peach to open it and remove the pit.
- Chop, chop, chop! Cut the lettuce into small, bite sized pieces and make sure to crumble the bacon. Using thinly sliced peaches and onions gives a beautiful look, but you could choose to dice both of those ingredients instead.
- Using chilled ingredients will help this salad taste amazing and really bring out the flavors. Especially since it is a summer salad. Even chilling the plate that the ingredients go on is a good way to keep the salad cool as it is sitting out.
- Don't assemble the salad more than 3 hours in advance. I've prepped a goat cheese peach salad about 3 hours ahead of time and it was fine. Longer than that, though, and the salad may become soggy. Simply prep all of the ingredients and then fully assemble closer to the time to serving.
Ingredients You'll Need

Greens - Personally, I love using a greens mix such as baby spinach and kale. Adding arugula in would be so good, too.
Fresh peaches - Try to buy locally grown peaches if you can! You may save money and they always taste the best.
Pistachios - These add the perfect crunch and slight saltiness to the salad. Just buy the lightly salted kind.
Craisins
White onions - Using a white onion over a purple onion adds just the right amount of subtle flavor and zest.
Bacon - Maple bacon is a favorite in our home! Any kind of bacon will taste amazing in a goat cheese peach salad. To make it easy, place the bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 400 degrees until crispy.
Goat Cheese - This cheese is so creamy and delicious, especially when paired with fresh fruit.
Tools You Will Need

Step By Step Goat Cheese Peach Salad Instructions
First, prep the ingredients. Thinly slice the white onion and peaches, cook the bacon and let cool. Chop the lettuce (after washing it and letting it dry, of course) and roughly chop the pistachios.

Next, add the mixed greens to a large salad bowl. Onto the greens add the onions, cranberries, pistachios and bacon. Crumble the bacon into small pieces.

After that, place the white onions and peaches on top.

Finally, crumble the goat cheese over the entire salad. Drizzle a homemade peach vinaigrette over the salad to make the fruity flavors even more bold!
