This pumpkin floral arrangement is great for mundane Fall days or an elegant dinner you may be hosting. It is easy to make yet looks so beautiful!

One thing about me is that I love a beautiful centerpiece to a table. I love changing out the flowers, or really just the nicknacks in the center of my table to match the season. Last fall, I made a pumpkin floral arrangement for my mother-in-law and my grandmother for hosting thanksgiving. I knew this year I had to do a post on it to give some of you a bit of inspiration for your table centerpieces.

I was going back and forth about when I should post this. Should I do it now or wait until closer to Thanksgiving? I made up my mind when the farm down the road from us set out their home-grown pumpkins for sale and had a beautiful patch of pick your own flowers. I can't tell you enough how important it is to support your local farmers, and local roadside stands like that! To hear more in depth as to why getting things, especially your food, locally is so important, read this post by us.

Why You Will Love This Pumpkin Floral Arrangement

To start, this fun Fall DIY is so simple. There are very minimal steps to do this pumpkin floral arrangement, and each step is straight forward.

Second, this table centerpiece is versatile. Like I mentioned above, this pumpkin floral arrangement is one that can be used for an elegant Fall dinner you may be hosting, or it can just sit on your table and look just as lovely. The flowers that you use really help to make this arrangement go with whatever occasion you are using it for.

Thirdly, this DIY is quick. This pumpkin floral arrangement was started and finished within about 30 minutes. I am here for all the DIYs to make your space feel more seasonal, although, when it takes too long, count me out.

Supplies Needed to Make a Pumpkin Floral Arrangement

    • Pumpkin - when picking a pumpkin, find one that is plump.
    • Scissors
    • Sharp knife
    • Spoon
    • Short round vase - The vase should be shorter than the pumpkin itself, so it is hidden when in the pumpkin. I found that this "fishbowl" like one worked perfect.

How to Make a Pumpkin Floral Arrangement Step-by-Step

First Step: To start, if the pumpkin is dirty, rinse it off making sure there is no dirt present.

Second Step: Second, taking the sharp knife, run it about 3-4 inches from the stem, going the whole way around the top of the pumpkin.

Third Step: Thirdly, using a spoon, gut the pumpkin as best you can. We want to get rid of that bump in the middle of the bottom of the pumpkin. We want to get rid of it, so our vase sits flat. To do this, take the edge of a spoon and scrape that bump in the middle bottom until it is flat.

Fourth Step: Next, place the vase in the bottom of the pumpkin and fill it about halfway with water. This is where the fun begins! Begin creating the bouquet, making it your own. I stuck with all Fall colors for mind and went with a more whimsical look.

    Ways to Use Pumpkin Seeds

We love not wasting anything if possible. We gave the pumpkin guts to our chickens, and they loved it. Although, for those of you that don't have chickens, I wanted to give you some ideas of ways you could use the insides of the pumpkin.

You can never go wrong with simply roasting the pumpkin seeds. Check out this recipe by this mom's menu to learn how to roast your pumpkin seeds to perfection.

I think the only thing better than roasted pumpkin seeds would be candied pumpkin seeds. I think the picture sells itself.

After roasting the pumpkin seeds, try making this granola recipe with them. You won't regret it!
