A Note from Our Kitchen to Yours
In the summer, my menu often looks fresh, light, and full of ingredients that are in season or straight from our garden. I am making meals like caprese chicken, a good homemade burger, and lemon salmon pasta.
I love that this salsa checks all those boxes and lines up with my summer menu. I can use the parsley, jalapenos, and even tomatoes from the garden to make this salsa. It is light and refreshing. I can use it for taco night or take it to a cookout with a good tortilla chip. This homemade salsa is in our summer rotation!
If you are looking for a quick and tasty salsa recipe this one is for you. Let's make this recipe together!

Why You Will Love This Salsa Recipe
One reason you will love this homemade salsa recipe is because it is quick. You simply throw all the ingredients into a blender and call it good! There is no chopping needed.
A second reason you will enjoy this salsa is because it makes a large batch. Whether you have a large family or would just like salsa for the week, you got it!
Lastly, this homemade salsa recipe is versatile. You can add in any herbs you like or take away some of the jalapenos, so it isn't as spicy. Make the recipe your own.

Ingredients
Canned Tomatoes (29 ounces) - Fresh tomatoes can be used as well if desired.
White Onion
Jalapenos - The number of jalapenos is really up to your preference and spice tolerance.
Lime Juice
Fresh Garlic - If you don't have fresh garlic on hand, garlic powder will work as well. Keep in mind that the garlic taste may not be as strong though.
Cumin
Salt
Pepper - freshly cracked black pepper makes such a difference, trust me.
Fresh Parsley - You can use cilantro instead of or in addition to if you'd like.
Tools You Will Need
Blender - An immersion blender works for this recipe as well. I love this affordable immersion blender from Amazon.
Sharp knife - I love my Farberware knives.
Cutting board
Mason jar or airtight container - The batch fits perfectly in these wide mouth mason jars.

How To Make This 5 Minute Salsa Step-by-Step
To start, prepare the ingredients needed for the salsa. This looks like chopping the onion in half, cutting the tops off the jalapenos, and removing the tops of the parsley from the stems as best you can.

In a blender, throw in the prepared ingredients, the canned tomatoes, and add in the spices as well as the lime juice.

Using the pulse button on your blender, pulse the salsa until it is thoroughly mixed and chopped while still having good texture.

Pour into an airtight jar and store in the fridge. See the storing instructions below.
Storing Homemade Salsa
When it comes to storing this homemade salsa, I keep mine in a mason jar, but any airtight container will work great! This salsa will last a week or a little longer in the fridge if stored properly.
This salsa will also freeze well. To freeze, strain about half of the liquid before placing it into freezer bags or an airtight container. Straining half of the liquid will help it to be less runny when it is thawed. I love freezing things like this in bags over containers because I can lay the bags on their side in the freezer and then they freeze flat and are stackable!
