Grab your salad tongs and let's make this together!
How to Make Red Cabbage and Apple Salad
To start, lets mix the dressing together so it has time to chill in the fridge.

To make the dressing, combine the mayo, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and honey in a jar. Give everything a good stir and set it in the fridge while we prepare the rest of the salad.

Second, prepare the cabbage for this salad. Cabbage has a slight peppery flavor to it and is very crunchy - sometimes making it difficult to eat. To cut this, sprinkle a pinch of salt over the thinly sliced cabbage. Massage it with your hands for 1 to 2 minutes. This will help soften it a bit and make it more enjoyable to eat.

Once the cabbage is prepared, cut up the rest of the ingredients. Thinly slice the apples, carrots, and celery.

In a large mixing bowl, add all the prepared ingredients and drizzle with the dressing.
Serve immediately or set in the fridge to chill!
Tips To Make This Salad
- Chop your ingredients the same size as best you can. This will ensure you get something of everything in each bite.
- For quick and even chopping, try a vegetable chopper!
- To soften the cabbage, sprinkle it with a bit of salt then massage it with your hands for a minute or so.
- Cut the apples last so they don't turn brown. If prepping this salad, make ahead of time but add in the apples just before serving.
- For a longer lasting salad, keep it in the fridge without dressing. Add the dressing just before serving.
- Use crisp apples like Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp.
- Don't add too much dressing to your salad. You don't want it overpowered with dressing and super runny.
