Tips to Make the Best Butternut Squash Pasta sauce.
- Using the seasonings is so necessary in this recipe. They cannot be omitted or replaced with something else. The salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried basil helps to bring out the flavors of the butternut squash and tomatoes.
- Use pasta water to thin down the pasta sauce. Pasta sauce is full of flavor so adding it into the sauce to thin it down won't alter the fresh flavor. It is also a great way to not waste that pasta water! Reserve all of it in a jar once your pasta is done so you can adjust according to your thinness or thickness.
- Be sure to use fresh butternut squash and not frozen. I have tried it with both and the flavor from fresh butternut squash is so much better and uncomparable.
